Well it has now been a year since I was sleeved this time last year i was lying in the hospital bed, thinking i was dying...
Well i came out unscathed and am loving it, apart from having some minor iron and anaemia problems
all is well...
I feel fantastic and no longer take the arthritis meds that i was on for my aching legs...
I am still lazy and ha vent done any exercise yet, which i really want to do..
We have a gym at work, well curves..but I'm still umming an ahhhing about that.
We are just about to go away for Easter and that will be great, ill be seeing some mates that i ha vent see since before My sleeve so that Will be a big shock..

Well the new year came and went nothing to exciting to report, my hernia is giving me grief and i now have to wear a tight band around it to hold it in, especially on busy nights at work..those are the worst, i don't go back to see Dr Taylor till April, then we have to make a date from there for surgery, I am still the same weight, but my Dr did a blood test and I am anemic, so i am regretfully taking iron tablet, i have enough trouble with my bowels without adding that constipation to it!!But what do you do, nothing just get on with it, a family member laughed at me when i told them about the hernia, and the toilet prob, and being anemic and said see what you did to yourself, is it still worth it, i said YES definitely, wouldn't change a thing!!!

Well i have been quite slack n the blog front..sorry.
I have lost soem more weight and am happy with that. I am now in the 25 bmi range, which is just under the overweight mark now, woop woop.
I have just been to the gold coast and got myself another tattoo much to my husbands disgust. I went to a 21st heres a pic of me now.. Xmas i s now upon us and well it will be very soon..

Well me and my husband went to a wedding on the weekend and I think i blew most people away!!! The groom even said to Darren i thought you were bringing your wife, heehehhhe, and the girls that work there, cause it used to be my old work I just loved it..

Also my weight has finally moved down .500grams, after nearly 4 weeks!! really I'm not fussed, as long it stays down, lol...I really want to get to 60kg, and i will be really happy, well I'm really happy already!!!

I got back from Sydney last night, quite late, anyhow the Dr (beautiful blue eyes...drool) said that i have lost 2/3rds of my weight and would be happy if i didn't loose anymore!!, no hang on I'm not finished yet, and that i have an incisional hernia?? it doesn't hurt at all, and if and when it does, OR gets bigger, I'm to go back and go under the knife again! all for free.

My dietitian was really happy, and said I should eat more fruit, well i eat at least one piece a day she wants me to eat at least 3! :654365: that's pushing it, at least i can try...

OMG the compliments i have been getting as most of the family haven't seen me since April!! I really got heaps of compliments which in the end i was getting embarrassed...

I'm still loosing about a kilo a week, some weeks it stops , but then resumes again..

Well I'm off tomorrow,to Sydney, to see my surgeon for my 2nd ever check up, which I'm glad about especially seeing i have this lump thingy??/

I have dropped another kilo, so now I'm 67.7kg, and I'm still overweight and not in a healthy BMI yet..few more to go..

Its funny on the comments you get, especially now since I've lost 25kg's, and people are starting to worry!! like i have cancer!! that was a comment from one of my dh's mates on the weekend i havent seen him in 6 months, and he was asking my hubby when they were out at the pub , if i was okay cause i had lost a fair bit of weight!

Well I will be doing some shopping while im there, as there are only limited shops here, and i have a wedding to go to, at my old work place, and they havent seen me there, so that should be interesting.....hmmmmm

Well nothing really happening just got visitors ATM and lots of work...
I have lost some more weight and i now weigh 68.4kg!! amazing I just feel sooo good, really energized, I just cant stop feeling soo good.
I cant stop trying on clothes too, i actually got a top that was a size 12! But I'm having trouble with my boobs,?? I don't think they are even big, but a couple of tops i have put on and the top is busting out, the rest fits good? weird i reckon..
I'm still not eating much ,have been trying to avoid bread, like just having my tuna in a bowl instead of on a sandwich cause it just doesn't agree, gets me chocked up!, And if i don't go to the toilet well....then there is even less room!
All in all I'm really good.

Ive been a tad slack on the diary front, actually i have been having a few headaches, of late.

I'm off to Sydney in a couple of weeks to have my 3 monthly check, i have this awful lump, which my Dr reckons ISN'T a hernia, its right above one of my incision lines.very strange, it keeps getting bigger, doesn't hurt..

Anyhow i have lost a bit more weight i now weigh 69.8!! wooohohoooo
I was getting worried as the scales crept up only like 500grams or so and they didn't move for 3 weeks, so i upped my protein don't know if that had anything to do with it, and i hadn't taken my new found relief tablets, (coloxyl with senna) and was backed up a bit, but back to normal now, and feeling good..

Actually I'm a bit on love with myself, i cant stop checking myself out in the full length mirror, becoming an addiction

I went to the movies tonight with the girlie's to see twilight eclipse I just love the whole saga...and yes I'm a Jacob fan..give me them ripped abs any day!!yummmm

Scales moving again!!

Well the scales have moved a couple of times now, I'm now 71.5kgs! yippee haven't been this low for soooo long and it feels great.
I have a lump just above my right suture mark, like a hernia, I went to my Dr but she doesn't know what it is, probably something to do with my surgery, she said it wasn't a hernia?? so who knows, have to wait till i get back to my surgeon in July..

My scales havent moved for two weeks! they actaully have been flickering, cause i wet them the other day, forgot to move them before i washed the bathroom down,anyhow i went and bought some more today!! hehehehe

And i also bought some size 12 jeans!!!! they are from rockmans,and their stuff is a bit bigger than most other stores, but none the less its a 12 may have to wear them inside out so people can see the tag, hehehehehe...

I did buy some 14s in target when i was in sydney and i tired them on and couldnt do the zipper up, so I bought them anyhow, and yesterday i got them on, hmmm will def have to measure myself again!

Well I'm half way there,to my goal weight, i cant believe how easy it has been. i feel great well my legs are thanking me that's for sure, not one ache since i lost the first 10kgs, and no more tablets for that!! yyeehhhaaa

Well im back home I went to sydney for a eye brow lift, (in lamans terms).
Had my 35 stitches out yesterday, and am healig okay still having bruised eyes, a lady even tssed' me in coles today and shook her head, she must have thought someone bashed me! How sad of her..It was rainy and cloudy so it was too dark to wear my sunnys, i tried.

I went for a few decent walks while i was away, and came home to discover i had lost 2.9kgs!!OMG

Back to work on thursday, really hope my brusies are gone then. I didnt really eat much eaither evrything was getting or felt like it was sitting in my neck, awful.

Well im still eating not much at all, and still making stews , tonight everyone else was having bbq so i just got a chop threw it into the pot with water and some mushies, spinach, and lentils, stock, and boiled crap out of it, sprinkled it with portien powder and voilla'.

Its funny well not haha funny just that how our tastes change well mine def have, i used to drink heaps of coffee, but i dont really like the taste anymore, actually dont want to eat anything i used to...I just dont think about it anymore, I have no problem making everyone else (family) lunch or dinner with out mouth watering like i did on opti? its just so amazing.. I even bought soe shortbread biscuits which i used to eat a whole packet in a sitting, but when i open it and had one , it just didnt taste like it used to....it used to be heaven , not anymore...

Well I'm 4 weeks post op today!
I still haven lost any weight since i came home which has been 2 weeks, I'm hoping this will change soon..

I'm having real trouble in the poo dept. I bought Agrol to take, cause benefibre isn't working..

Well i have to remember to sip....sip...sip.. so hard to do when your NOT used to it.

Just have my soups, and after 2 weeks i come home finally, i got the all clear form the surgeon. Kids are really happy to be home finally, they missed their dad, and of course he missed us too..
At 12day post op I'm having my soups, and drinking yogurt, haven't bee to the toilet for 5 days but had some success today. 21st April 2010 had my phone consult with dietitian today am allowed to go onto mushy scrambled eggs or those flavoured tuna cans, protein first, then fruit then veg.
My Dr has told me to take movicol for the rear end but i cant even tried mixing it with cordial grosssssssss.
So all up i have lost 12kgs but nothing since i came home, any wonder with rear business..
Really considering the gym, if not def some walking..

The Big day!

I arrive at hospital at about 7.30am, get dropped my my son, then go upstairs to get prepped, wait in a room till i get called put the gown on, take all my clothes off! Even my undies, yes she says, then go wait in a bed, take this , get this, get wheeled into eh theatre my legs are shaking, I'm getting prepped then they put me under , ahhhhhhhhhhh
I wake hours later in the ward in my room, cant remember anything else before that. My surgeon comes to see my tells me all is good, i go back to sleep, i do actually try to vomit, now that was an awful feeling, my stomach just hurt SO much, then i weed the bed! great I'm a child again.
So for the next two days i just sleep, finally i get a visitor, my boy. I just watch my ipod which i loaded up with movies before i left home. And on day 3 i go home, well to where i was staying.
I didnt have any painkillers from day 2 onwards not needed. Got lots of phone calls from everyone, family.
Finally got my drip out and went home.

I start the opti 2 weeks before my Op, its awfull, adn only 3 shakes then 2 cups of veg/salad, no fruit? it just the worst. I end up loosing 8 kgs by the time i get to the hospital for my op! Dr very pleased.

APRA!!!

Omg i really hate apra my GP wrote the wrong on the letter, that it was not readily available in the hospital system, which means i go to the bottom of the pile now,and now it even busier i have to wait 14 working days, what a drama it has been. So finally on the 10Th march i got the approval over the phone. They wont put the money in the bank i have to wait for a cheque, in the meantime i have to go to Sydney for a pre-op at the hospital.

So I'm supposed to pay for my surgery 2 weeks before, I have to get a licence certified by a JP, then express post that to super company, then wait again. So i wait ,a and wait and then decide to ring to see whats happening. OMG now my super co has sen the forms back to me as the JP didn't do it properly or to their liking, so another 7 days wasted, why couldn't they ring me and tell me, cause they are dumb, no she said we are an inbound call dept!! phooey!Idiots. So i decide to go and get it done again by someone else, i do this then buy 2 express post envelopes and put one in the envelope for them to send back to me with my cheque in it. Well my cheque never arrives before i have to leave for Sydney and my op, I have to borrow the money from a family member quite embarrassing as i have to explain it all to them! And go straight to the oclinic and pay for my surgery in cash, then pay the hospital also. what a stress it has been.

Appointments..

So I go down to Sydney, in january 2010 and have my appointment with the surgeon Dr Craig Taylor, meet him hes very nice and cute too, we talk about the risks, and other stuff, decide on the sleeve as Its too hard living so far away, so we set a date, well I set the easter skool holidays sounds great, I can stay with relatives while in hospital and recovering.

So after that appoinment i wait around for my dieticians appoinment, just go thru what i eat now, then I go for the pych appoinment, that was a scream, he really couldnt help me, as I have a near perfect life! ha

About me

Where to start, I gained excess kg's when i got pregnant with my first son who is now nearly 19! so for all those years I yoyoed, I tried diet pills lots of them, hypnosis, weight watchers, jenny Craig, sure slim,optifast,tony ferguson, I could loose them but i never kept them off, so a viscous circle really.

We moved from the city to the country in 2008 and built our home, I'm which time i had been thinking about a band or sleeve for a while but with no money how could i even think!

So as time passed i read more into it, and decided I was gonna go for it, and get the financial assistance from APRA.

So I weigh 93kgs, and im 156cm short. I love food, sweet things mostly, OMG raspberry licorice bullets covered in white choc, warmed up in the microwave, yummmmoooo..
